TO MY UNSEEN BELOVED
By Afsana Siddika
To the Beautiful Soul Ordained in My Fate—
You shall be the enchanting daffodil of my heart,
a bloom inscribed quietly into the garden of my destiny,
the dazzling hue of my rainbow,
while I shall be a gentle light within your world.
Yet I do not know your identity, your abode, or what you hold dear,
for in truth, we remain utter strangers to one another.
Still, I hope our separate paths will unfold in quiet peace,
trusting that, if it is written, our paths shall cross someday —
in a manner both blessed and graceful.
In quiet moments I wonder if our gazes crossed, perhaps
upon a bustling street beneath the daylight,
or beneath the tranquil glow of a moonlit evening,
as two unfamiliar faces passing through a crowd,
unaware that the Lord had already inscribed our names
somewhere within a beautiful chapter
of our future lives journal.
Even so, how quietly profound and ironic it is
that though I do not know you,
I still carry you within my heart and my prayers.
Hence, I guard my gaze and my heart patiently only for you,
trusting that when the time comes,
there will be no “to be or not to be,”
no hesitation —
only a serene certainty,
as though my heart itself will softly whisper,
“Perhaps, this is the soul I have been praying for.”
And in that moment,
perhaps every prayer, every wait,
and every silent hope
will finally find its true meaning.
Until then, I shall wait and pray for you,
a thousand times over, and I hope, wherever you are,
you too are keeping a silent prayer for the one yet unknown —
so that when our paths finally meet,
our hearts may already know
the quiet way toward ultimate bliss.
